On 1 August 2010 the Global Alliance for ICT and Development, together with the eGovernment Authority of Bahrain (EGA), held a national seminar on the MDG eCenter. The topic of the seminar was “eMDG Portal: Implementation in the Kingdom of Bahrain”. The Seminar was attended by around fifty senior officials from key ministries concerned with all areas of development as well as the residential representative of UNDP. Senior GAID officials presented the MDG eCenter to the participants and held a productive discussion regarding future modalities of interaction between Bahraini partners and GAID in building and maintaining the eCenter.
The establishment of the eCenter was strongly welcomed by all participants and significant steps were made towards establishing permanent support mechanisms in the region for developing countries, through Bahraini authorities, to assist them in using the MDG eCenter.
