A Flat World but with Education Potholes.. how to cope?

I enjoy learning.My work around the world has let me learn in many different wans and I started by learning the geography and cultures of various countries. I was involved with the National Geographic Society and we had to know lots ofgeography, but beyond maps, we did field work and they encouraged us to travel, to read and to be a part of cultures for understanding.
Some of us need to cope by learning more about the couuntries we interact with. I love reading the newspaper/media descriptions around the world from different points of view.

Collaborative Communities

Since my last post, I have worked to study the new ways of collaboraion, not just on line, but in a course. I study Supercomputing as a main area of interest, but I took a course that was a mashup between 2.0 and the uses of SuperComputing.

What a journey. I sat in a class with computer scientists and we all were being immersed in the new cultures, the new ways of learning, the new ways of using the Internet. I come away with an interesting sense of being , and being not the same.
