Nepal's tenth five-year plan has sunsetted in July 2007 and Nepal is lagging behind in achieving the number of telecenters to be established in rural areas of Nepal. In order to take the Telecentre movement forward, one of the biggest hindrances has been identified by the Second National Conference on Rural Telecentres, Swaabhimaan 2063 as the lack of political will and commitment at a time where the political situation was fluid and changing.
This multi-stakeholder partnership initiative by GKP South Asian members will engage all regional members and other regional ICT4D players in knowledge sharing and partnership building on the role of ICT in promoting access to and supporting the provision of quality education, and also driving entrepreneurship through entrepreneurial learning and entrepreneurial radio.

The II Ministerial Conference about the Information Society eLAC2007, will be held next 6, 7 and 8 of February, 2008 in El Salvador. The region will evaluate the implementation of eLAC2007 and could adopt new goals and objectives.
