- Q: Will UN GAID provide funding for participants?
A: We regret that we are not able to provide financial support to participants at this time. All participants are encouraged to explore sponsorship for their travel and accommodation in Geneva. Should further sources of funding become available, participants will be contacted. Thank you for your interest in the Global Forum.
- Q: Is there a registration fee for the Global Forum?
A: No. Registration is free.
- Q: Do I need to make a deposit in advance in order to confirm hotel reservations or will reservations be made for me by the Conference organizers?
A: Individuals will be responsible for making their own reservations at the lodging of their choice. For participants who are sponsored by organizations and agencies, the sponsors will be responsible for making all necessary arrangements, including hotel accommodation. Some hotels may require a deposit in advance in order to confirm reservations.
- Q: Where can I stay?
A: A list of hotels and low-cost young hostels is available. Participants are advised to make their reservation as soon as possible.
- Q: What time do I need to check in/out of the hotel?
A: When making your reservations, please check with the hotel about their respective check-in and check-out times.
- Q: What documentation will I need to bring?
A: For travel purposes, please bring your passport stamped with the Swiss visa (if required), any medical certificates or vaccination records that may be required, a copy of the Letter of Invitation for attending the Global Forum and the attached information. Note. At the Global Forum, you will be provided with an information kit/package which will include a copy of the Programme, list of participants, relevant documents on the sessions, marketplace, exhibits, etc.
- Q: How can I amend/update the registration form to reflect changes in my contact information, among others?
A: You may update your registered information by re-filling the registration form. Please make sure you use the same email address.
- Q: How can I cancel my registration?
A: You may cancel your registration by sending an email to gaid AT un-gaid DOT org.
- Q: Will copies of papers and presentations at the Global Forum be made available?
A: Yes. They will be posted on the Global Forum website once they become available.
- Q: What ground transportation options are available from the airport to the hotel?
A: Please see Venue & Logistics.
- Q: What ground transportation options are available for my stay in Geneva?
A: Same as above.
- Q: What is the dress code?
A: Business casual or national attire.
- Q: What will the weather be like?
A: September and October are the rainiest months in Geneva. Temperatures are mild with daytime highs around 69.0° F, and night time lows about 48.0° F. Light sweaters and jackets are recommended.
- Q: What currency will I need?
A: The currency in Switzerland is Swiss Francs. You can also carry US Dollars, Euros, and British Pounds and convert them to Swiss currency once in Geneva. We suggest that you convert some money at the airport in order to have local currency to pay for your immediate needs, including for transportation.

A: Yes. Internet and wireless access will be provided for participants during the Global Forum.
