The Web2forDev 2007 Conference is not another conference about technology. It is the first conference about how development actors and especially Southern ones get access to and use new tools. It is about understanding what difference new tools can make to the ways that individuals and institutions communicate and apply knowledge to development problems. It is expected that Web 2.0 greatly contributes to knowledge sharing but the impact is not yet assessed.
