On-demand epidemiological information available on the Global Health Atlas

In a single electronic platform, the WHO's Communicable Disease Global Atlas is bringing together for analysis and comparison standardized data and statistics for infectious diseases at country, regional, and global levels. The analysis and interpretation of data are further supported through information on demography, socioeconomic conditions, and environmental factors. In so doing, the Atlas specifically acknowledges the broad range of determinants that influence patterns of infectious disease transmission.

The Cuban National Health Care Telecommunications Network and Portal

The Internet and telecommunications technologies contribute to national health care system infrastructures and extend global health care services markets. The Cuban national health care system offers a model to show how a national information portal can contribute to system integration, including research, education, and service delivery as well as international trade in products and services.

Le Secrétaire général inaugurera la première réunion de l'Alliance mondiale pour les technologies de l'information et des communications (TIC) au service du développement, qui se tiendra le 27 septembre au Siège des Nations Unies à New York.

Lancée le 19 juin dernier à Kuala Lumpur, en Malaisie, l'Alliance vise à promouvoir l'usage des TIC dans les activités de développement et la lutte contre la pauvreté.
