Fundidora Park is a public park located east of Monterrey, Mexico, inside the former Monterrey Foundry property with an area of 120 hectares (1.2 km2). The park contains several industrial buildings from the old Foundry making the park a famous Archeological Industrial Site in Mexico full of beauty and ambiance. It also contains extensive walking tracks, an artificial lake, playgrounds for children and a 2.1 miles (3.4 km) permanent road course which is popular with joggers, bicyclists and inline skaters. Fundidora Park also includes a CINTERMEX which is a convention center, a hotel, a museum, Sesame Street Park, the Monterrey Arena, an auditorium, Cineteca Nuevo Leon and other smaller buildings with cultural venues. Monterrey
Monterrey is the capital city of the northeastern Mexican state of Nuevo León and a municipality of the same name. Also known as "Sultana del Norte" (Northern Sultan), Monterrey is an important industrial and business center. The city proper has population of 1.1 million, and the metropolitan area of Monterrey has a population of 3.8 million (INEGI 2005). All you need is:
- a valid passport expiring at least 6 months after the date that you enter Mexico
- to complete the standard "Migration Form for Tourists, Transmigrants, Visiting Businesspersons, or Visiting Consultants", (FMTTV) which will be given to you on the airplane or at the airport.
The completed form and your passport need to be given to the immigration authorities at the airport.
The border entry officer may check that you are on the list of participants for the GAID Global Forum, therefore we recommend that you register for the event (Global Forum Registration).
For Delegates from Countries who Require a Visa
If you are from a country which does require a visa to enter Mexico please follow the steps below:
- Register
You will need to register for the forum before you can be included in the special visa application process for forum participants.
- Request a Letter of Invitation
Request a letter of invitation by contacting the GAID Secretariat. This will only be possible if you have registered. Please provide the Secretariat with the following information:
Nationality: Nationality according to the Country Code Table (2 characters)
Country of birth: Country where the applicant was born according to the Country Code Table (2 characters)
Passport No: Passport Number of the applicant, it should be in Capital Letters and with no spaces
Passport Country: Country that emits the passport according to the Country Code Table (2 characters)
Passport Issue date: Date when Passport was issued (format DD/MM/YYYY)
Passport expiry date: Expiry date of Passport (format DD/MM/YYYY)
You should print the invitation letter and submit it with your visa application.
- Visa Application
Your details will be shared with the Mexican Immigration authorities who will check your details before issuing your visa.
To ensure the Mexican authorities have adequate time to process your request apply as soon as possible.
You will need to go to your closest Mexican consulate/embassy (list is available here) and present the following:
- Your Passport
- Your Letter of Invitation
- US$36 (or equivalent in local currency)
- A completed visa application form
- Please note that if you apply for your visa in China or Russia you will also need to provide a photo (in colour and passport format) and they will also take the fingerprints of your two index fingers.
No Mexican Representation in your Country
If there is no Mexican consulate or embassy that can issue a visa in your country you will need to apply, in person, at a consulate or embassy in another country (the full list is available here).

Transportation from the airport
Upon arrival at the Monterrey Airport, you can either take a taxi or the hotel shuttle to your respective hotels. Taxi fares from the Airport range from 20 to 35 USD Travel time is about 30 to 40 minutes.
Please note that for security reason we advise you the take official taxi only.
Vehicle to access to Parque Fundidora
There will be buses available from the following hotels: Camino Real, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Fundidora. Transportation to and from the Global Forum venue will be available throughout the two days of the event.
